Parents Night Off – Keiki Social Evenings

Parents have the most important job raising the next generation, yet they often have the least support. MAMM offers monthly events that give parents the night off and engage keiki in mindful movement events that foster healthy social engagement, empowering activities, and loads of fun.

Community Classes – by donation, everyone welcome

MAMM offers community movement classes in participating studio, schools, and offices.  Could your work crew benefit from yoga, stretching, team-building martial arts, or dance?  MAMM’s community classes allow everyone to experience the healing and empowerment of mindful movement regardless of their current economic conditions.  See our Events page for more details.

✎ Apply to Lead Mindful Movement

MAMM is looking for movement leaders to offer community movement classes and events across the island.  Perhaps you teach Kupuna dance, or Keiki gymnastics, maybe you lead mommy & me yoga, or enjoy teaching yoga and meditation to teens.  Join the Maui Access to Mindful Movement team and help strengthen Maui’s well being.

A Note From Our Founder…

“Like many children, I struggled with social awkwardness, confusion, and depression. I’d act out in frustration or isolate myself away from what seemed to be an unkind world.

It was my involvement in martial arts and dance that changed things. In these classes, I was with my peers, but we were being led by a strong teacher. We were moving mindfully.

There was discipline but also compassion and joy. Everyone was held to strong principles like respect and kindness. In that atmosphere there was both safety and free expression.

Later in life, yoga gave me a safe space to breathe deeply, comb through my body and clear stuck emotions. More than anything else, mindful movement has changed my life.

MAMM was founded to bring mindful movement to more of Maui’s local residents from keiki to kupuna.”
